Independent Commissioning — manufacturer-independent, turnkey

Commissioning

Commissioning is the most critical moment in the lifecycle of an industrial plant. VLD Service accompanies the entire process — from final mechanical assembly through electrical testing and PLC parameterization to the final production run. Our goal: a plant that runs at full capacity on handover day with zero rework.

  • Turnkey commissioning of complete systems
  • Integration into existing logistics systems
  • PLC parameterization and functional testing
  • Operator training

From Delivery to Production

A new machine is delivered — but between arrival at the loading dock and the first finished product lies a complex process: mechanical assembly, alignment, stainless steel piping, electrical connection, PLC parameterization, safety check, test run, performance test, training. That is exactly our job.

Turnkey Installation

We handle the complete installation: from positioning and aligning the machine through piping (TIG stainless steel) and electrical wiring to integration into your existing infrastructure. One team, one schedule, one point of contact — from the first bolt to the performance test.

Parameterization and Functional Testing

After mechanical and electrical installation comes commissioning: PLC parameterization, sensor calibration, safety circuit testing, process testing. We ramp up the plant step by step and optimize each process step until the required performance is achieved.

Performance Test and Acceptance

Before we hand over the plant, we perform a complete performance test: Is the plant running at the intended capacity? Are all safety functions active? Does cleaning work? Only when everything checks out does acceptance take place — including documentation and training of your personnel.

Training

Your employees need to be able to operate and maintain the new plant in daily use. We train your team: operation, basic settings, common faults and their resolution, cleaning procedures. Hands-on, directly at the machine.

Applications

  • Commissioning of complete meat processing lines
  • Integration of new modules into existing plants
  • FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test)
  • Performance testing and OEE optimization
  • Training of operators and maintenance technicians
  • Creation of maintenance plans and operating instructions

Frequently asked questions

What does a complete commissioning by VLD Service include?
Our commissioning includes: mechanical verification (alignment, torques), electrical insulation measurement, PLC single-step test, test run with simulation material, trial run with real product at increasing capacity and finally acceptance with performance proof (FAT/SAT).
Does VLD Service also train operating personnel?
Yes, after acceptance, we train operating personnel on site — from HMI operation to troubleshooting common faults. We hand over complete technical documentation with maintenance plans and operating instructions.
How long does a typical commissioning take?
The duration depends on the complexity of the plant — from a few days for individual machines to several weeks for complete production lines. We plan commissioning to minimize production downtime.
Can you also commission machines we purchased ourselves?
Yes. Many of our clients purchase machines directly from the manufacturer and commission us with on-site assembly and commissioning. We work manufacturer-independently and coordinate directly with the machine manufacturer when needed.
How long does a typical commissioning take?
That depends on the complexity of the plant. A single machine can be commissioned in a few days. A complete production line with conveyors, packaging and automation typically takes a few weeks. We prepare a detailed schedule for you in advance.
How much does commissioning cost?
Billed by actual effort: productive hours, FAT/SAT documentation, travel. Full scope: mechanical assembly, connection, PLC configuration, functional tests, operator training. No idle costs. Pilot project with 100% satisfaction guarantee available. Concrete quote after a free on-site analysis.

Commissioning as a Swiss Partner for Machinery Manufacturers

VLD Service handles commissioning tasks for international machinery manufacturers in Switzerland — PLC parameterization, test runs, operator training, FAT/SAT documentation. No need to build your own Swiss team.
